The Write Space
The Write Space is a course designed for both those who have completed the existing Solihull Core Creative Writing Course and want to continue their writing journey and for those who already have some writing experience or a work-in-progress and are looking to take their skills to the next level and extend their portfolios. This inspiring 10 week course is designed to allow writers the space to work both independently and closely with course tutor Wersha Bharadwa and course peers on a writing, editing, feedback and networking learning basis for specific issues during facilitated sessions for writers working on a current project or those looking to experiment in new techniques and craft skills.
Wersha will deliver the workshops, moderate guided discussions and also be on hand to assist with all your writing queries in the sessions.
For writers who have completed the creative writing course at Solihull Core, the flexible structure of this extension course will help meet your needs as you go along and encourage more in-depth work, building upon your newly acquired skills and also offers more technical guidance, space and time to complete projects (prose fiction, non fiction, memoir & first person, essays, travel writing, playwriting).
Also for those who have completed the Creative Writing course and who just want the space and time to continue their writing goals - without a specific goal or project in mind- this new course on Thursdays will continue to assist you with further practical writing exercises and prompts to enhance and develop your skills in literary techniques such as plot and structure, tension, characterisation, narrative point-of-view, dialogue, show don’t tell, description, setting & location, genre and imagery.
The Write Space will also benefit writers from Solihull, Birmingham and the West Midlands looking to engage in-person with our exciting and emerging literature and writing community - including those who have already been published or have knowledge of independent publishing and self-publishing routes.
The course is suitable for recent further and higher education graduates seeking to elevate and continue writing goals and offers them a weekly space in which to do so.
Guided workshops and more in-depth knowledge via sharing work, as well as planning and staggered deadlines for goal-setting will assist those working on first drafts of novel and non fiction book manuscripts or with redrafting processes as well as those working to complete short stories and flash fiction, memoirs, essays and other forms of prose writing either to completion or with the redrafting process to competition and or publishing industry standards.
The Write Space Creative Writing 10 Week Extension Course will include break-out room sessions to encourage writers to share their work and gain valuable feedback from peers to help you build confidence and edit and revise your writing more effectively.
