Join us at The Core Theatre for an inspiring evening of live presentations and small-scale works-in-progress, offering a first look at emerging ideas and creative voices in Solihull.
Eight artists have been commissioned to develop micro-projects across dance, film, spoken word, music and visual arts. This year’s selected artists are:
Hadija Brittain-Harris - Solo dance performance
Shayan Mawlood - “Whispers of the Nightfolk” a looping projection installation with graphite drawing
Ayan Mahamud - "Meadows Creek", Poetry film
Imogen Smith - Printed textiles
Amara Latchford - music composition
Milly Best - Solo dance performance
Humeira Naseem - Trailer for a short film
Michelle Amezcua - Clay sculpture
Small is Beautiful provides a platform for artists to experiment, test new concepts and develop their practice. As part of the programme, each commissioned artist receives dedicated support to help shape and refine their work.
This is the 4th year of Small is Beautiful, presented in collaboration with Solihull Cultural Education Partnership (CEP).
