STITCH TOGETHER TEXTILES
A Group Exhibition of Mixed Media Textile Art.
A talented group of textiles artists and students will exhibit together at The Core Theatre, Solihull. ‘The Lines that connect us’ - will be an exhibition of contemporary textiles, painting and mixed-media’ exhibits from 20th September to 2nd October 2023.
An educational group led by Maria Thomas. The members of Stitch Together Textiles have completed or are working towards City & Guilds - Design & Craft qualifications in Embroidery and Textiles. Projects pursued by individual makers have grown out of starting points such as colour, texture, line, shape and form. Using varied combinations of print, stitch and dying techniques, outcomes have been created that articulate a diverse array of themes including locations, place, travel and the environment.
This exhibition is an exciting opportunity to share our collaborative work based on the theme of ‘maps and mapping’. ‘Mapkins’ combines the groups individually sourced and embellished napkins, making a united starting point for the lines that connect us.
