It's 1962 in Baltimore, and Tracy Turnblad, a big-haired, big-hearted teen with even bigger dance dreams, just wants to shimmy her way onto The Corny Collins Show. She's not your typical leading lady, she's plus-sized, proud, and totally unstoppable as she becomes an overnight sensation!
With the help of her fabulous best friend Penny, heartthrob Link Larkin, and the bold and brassy Motormouth Maybelle, Tracy sets out to integrate the show and fight for change.
With catchy songs like "Good Morning Baltimore," "You Can't Stop the Beat," and "Big, Blonde and Beautiful," this toe-tapping musical serves up laughs, love, and a whole lot of hair volume, proving that one determined teenager can change the world. This is one beat that you just can't stop!
Wednesday evening's performance will be BSL interpreted.
