Please note this show was originally headlined by Angelos Epithemiou, who is now headlining January's show. We're thrilled to have secured Paul Sinha as our new headliner!
Funny to The Core is the NEW monthly comedy club in the Studio at The Core, bringing the best and funniest UK comedy talent to Solihull.
Headlining the show is the brilliant Paul Sinha! A trained medical doctor who is perhaps best known as the Sinnerman on the hugely popular ITV quiz show 'The Chase', Paul has played every major comedy club in the UK, performed in eighteen other countries across the globe, and been three times nominated for Best Club Comedian at the Chortle Awards, winning in 2014.
Paul has taken eight solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. His 2017 show Shout Out To My Ex had a sellout run and toured nationally, with 2018’s The Two Ages Of Man following suit. On Radio 4, Paul has appeared several times on venerable favourites Just A Minute, The Now Show, and The News Quiz; and has carved out a career in factual comedy — making programmes on cricket, the 2012 Olympics, the Magna Carta, and UK citizenship.
Opening the show is American comic Erich McElroy! Erich is a stand-up comedian and writer. Originally from Seattle, he moved to the UK in 2000 and in 2007 collected his British passport.
His latest show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, (US) Electile Dysfunction, received numerous four and five star reviews and was a hit with audiences. In addition to playing UK venues up and down the country, Erich has appeared on BBC Breakfast, Newsnight, Sky News and Five News. He has been heard talking comedy and politics on BBC 5 Live, BBC Surrey, BBC Berkshire and regularly on TalkRadio. He has also written for the Independent, Huffington Post, The Herald in Scotland and even Saga.
“This is political stand-up at its best.” BroadwayBaby
With Hasan Al-Habib! Hasan is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer & actor. He performed at the Midlands regional heats of the BBC New Comedy Awards 2024, won the 2023 Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award and was a finalist at the 2022 Chortle Student Comedy Awards.
After selling out his double act show 2 Muslim 2 Furious at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024, Hasan made his solo debut in 2025 with Death To The West (Midlands) – a love letter to his Iraqi heritage and upbringing in Birmingham – selling out his run and multiple extra shows. DTWM has already received a nomination for Best Debut at the 2025 Leicester Comedy Festival Awards.
