Funny To The Core - Hal Cruttenden

Funny To The Core - Hal Cruttenden

Accomplished stand-up comedian, writer and actor Hal Cruttenden headlines a joyful night of comedy in the Studio at The Core, featuring Sean Gorman, Harry Pettitt and Louise Young.

Due to illness, the show will now be hosted by Jon Wagstaffe, rather than Louise Young as previously billed.

Funny to The Core is the NEW monthly comedy club in the Studio at The Core, bringing the best and funniest UK comedy talent to Solihull.

Headlining the show is the hilarious Hal Cruttenden! Hal is one of the top stand up comedians working in the UK today, as well as being a highly accomplished writer and actor. He has made several appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ as well as regular appearances on shows such as ‘Mock the Week’, ‘The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice’ and ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’.

He’s written and starred in his own sitcom, ‘Hal’ on Radio 4 (co-written with Dominic Holland). Hal’s stand up shows, ‘It’s Best You Hear It From Me’, ‘Tough Luvie’, ’Chubster’ and ‘Straight Outta Cruttenden’ are available on Amazon Prime. Other TV appearances include ’Would I Lie To You’, ‘Pointless Celebrities’, ‘The Weakest Link Celebrity Special’, ’Richard Osman’s House of Games’, ‘The One Show’, ‘Celebrity Mastermind’, ’Let’s Dance For Comic Relief’, ‘Celebrity Chase’, ‘Celebrity Tipping Point’ and ‘Guessable’.

Opening the show is deadpan comic Sean Gorman! Since starting, Salisbury's Sean, now based in London, has quickly proven to have a bright future in stand up.

In 2024 he was selected as part of the prestigious Best In Class showcase at The Edinburgh Fringe, which went on to win the panel prize at The Edinburgh-ISH Comedy Awards, and received multiple 4 Star reviews from publications including The Scotsman. Displaying the stage presence of a more seasoned comedian, his deadpan delivery and self deprecating humour has the audience hanging on every word.

Also on the bill is Harry Pettitt! Harry hails from the famous county of Essex and is rapidly rising through the comedy ranks. With a sharp wit and a flair for observational humour, Harry's relatable storytelling resonates with audiences young and old. Harry is a geezer and an audience-pleaser.

Hosted by Jon Wagstaffe!

A simple country lad from Tewkesbury Jon Wagstaffe burst onto the scene in May 2011 and has propelled himself quickly into being a well known act on the comedy circuit. His mix of high energy and clever writing make audiences warm to him instantly. Now experienced in playing to stag & hen parties to corporate nights, pubs to festivals, comedy clubs and competitions Jon is comfortable in any room. His take on modern life will have any audience in fits of laughter. He is also devilishly good-looking and has beautiful hair.

Please note, that while we do our best to ensure that we deliver the published bill, line-ups can be subject to change at short notice. This line-up previously included Pierre Hollins - the opening act will now be Sean Gorman.
