September is a packed month at The Core Theatre, with an exciting mix of theatre, comedy, live music, film, art and entertainment to enjoy!

The HandleBards bring their high-energy production of Macbeth to The Core on Wednesday 2 September.

Aston Villa Legends Lee Hendrie and Andy Townsend visit The Core on Thursday 3 September to talk about their action-packed football careers. It’s a must for any Villa fan!  Then on Friday 4 September, The Kilkennys perform a rousing night of Irish music.

Comedy takes centre stage on Saturday 5 September with Funny to The Core, headlined by Andy Parsons and featuring Peter Brush, Alex Egan and Adam Coumas.

From Tuesday 8 to Saturday 12 September, Coleshill on Stage presents Calamity Jane, a spirited and entertaining musical set in the 1870s Dakota Territory.

Bev Bevan, formerly of The Move, ELO, Black Sabbath and Quill, is joined by Des Tong on Monday 14 September to take you on a nostalgic trip around the Midlands music scene.

The award-winning ELO Experience takes to the stage on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September, celebrating the music of Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra. Then, on Thursday 17 September, John Barrowman brings My Life in Musicals to Solihull.

The musical nostalgia continues on Friday 18 September with Rave On – The Ultimate 50s & 60s Experience. On Saturday 19 September you can see The Hound of the Baskervilles in the Studio, while in the main theatre on the same night The Johnny Cash Roadshow celebrates the legendary singer’s prison-era performances and greatest hits.

On Sunday 20 September, The Bootleg Beach Boys bring the sounds of sunny California to the stage. The following evening, Monday 21 September, The Dionne Legacy sees Lorraine Brown celebrate the music of Grammy Award-winning icon Dionne Warwick.

On Wednesday 23 September Exhibition on Screen: James McNeill Whistler offers the chance to discover the work and influence of one of the great innovators of 19th-century art.

Country music fans can look forward to The Stars of Irish Country Show on Friday 25 September. Then, on Saturday 26 September, Buddy Holly and The Cricketers return with their Rock ’n’ Roll Legends Show, while in the Studio Harvest celebrates Neil Young’s legendary album.

Sunday 27 September sees Oasish bring the music, story and spectacle of Oasis to The Core. NT Live: The Misanthrope brings the West End stage to the big screen on Tuesday 29 September. Finally, the month comes to a feel-good conclusion on Wednesday 30 September with Legends of the 60s Show.
