Councillor Qais, Cabinet Member for Communities at Solihull Council, said:

“Our last update on The Core Theatre in mid-December explained that the remediation works to the auditorium roof were progressing, with the aim of an end of April 2025 opening.

“The work is going well, but as with any older building there are always one or two snags. We are therefore now looking to reopen the auditorium at the beginning of May 2025, with a celebratory variety performance hosted by the Mayor of Solihull for her charity fundraising event.

“This revised timetable will enable contractors to fully complete the roof remediation and undertake the additional upgrades required to the stage.

“As two performances were scheduled to take place in the auditorium at the end of April, we are exploring alternative arrangements with these performers. We will contact affected customers directly once we have more information.

“The calendar for the remainder of the year includes top tribute acts, musicals, film, comedy and productions from local theatre societies.
